Woad Farm Project

The Woad Farm Project

Therapeutic support in nature with animals.

Enabling young people to find calm, connection, and confidence.

At The Woad Farm Project, we believe that nature has the power to heal, calm and connect, and that every child should have the chance to experience it.

We are a not-for-profit care farm offering therapeutic, animal and nature based support for young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Our work is built on the belief that wellbeing starts outdoors, where children can lead the way, explore at their own pace, and grow in confidence through meaningful connection with animals, with nature, and with themselves.

Everything we do is child-led. We meet young people where they are; gently supporting their curiosity, offering safety, freedom and time. Whether it’s feeding animals, digging in the earth, or simply sitting quietly in a field, these simple moments can create real change.

Sessions
Referral Programme

This rolling half-term block is designed for children and young people who have experienced trauma or have social, emotional or mental health needs. Groups support up to 5 children.

These sessions follow a loose structure but allow for child-led play and exploration in a safe environment.

Open Sessions

Open session support a range of young people to come and enjoy nature and our animals. Sessions include:

  • Home School sessions
  • Little Explorers (under 5s club)
  • Saturday Farm club
Group bookings

If you are thinking of bringing a group of children, we offer the opportunity to book sessions by the hour with a dedicated session leader to support learning and ensure children enjoy the farm environment.

We can support your needs and work together to make these more educational or nurturing depending on the group.

1:1 sessions

These sessions offer children individualised access to our therapeutic spaces, offering a nature based, child-led approach. Sessions can be booked by schools, parents, social workers and other professionals.

These sessions can be tailored to the young person’s interests and needs.

Holiday Club

Sessions for young people to come and enjoy the farm and meet the animals during school holidays.  These sessions are run in groups and offer the perfect opportunity to get some Vitamin N (nature) and make friends too!

Sessions are based around the animals, nature, arts and crafts and much more!
